Sirens have secured the services of striker Michael Mifsud.
The veteran striker was on the books of Birkirkara FC but struggled for first-team football last season and at the end of the campaign, he was informed that he could seek pastures new.
Mifsud, who is the Malta national team’s all-time leading scorer, was approached by Sirens and Division One side Marsa and he has now decided that he wants to continue his career with the St Paul’s Bay side.
In fact, Mifsud has put pen to paper on a one year contract.
Mifsud’s signing is certainly a shot in the arm for the Blues ahead of the UEFA Europa League commitments where they are due to face Bulgarian giants CSKA Sofia at the end of this month.
Mifsud started his career with Sliema Wanderers before he moved abroad where he played in several European leagues, including the German Bundesliga with Kaiserslautern, the Norwegian top-flight with Lillestroem along with English Championship sides Coventry City and Barnsley.
On his return to Malta he played for Valletta, Qormi and Birkirkara.
