Swieqi United have reported that a member of their technical staff who tested positive for COVID-19 has now recovered after he stayed in isolation for two weeks. “The staff member who tested positive for COVID-19 tested negative today, and is therefore recovered,” the Challenge League club said
“The positive test of the
member of the technical staff took place two weeks ago, and he has been in
isolation ever since.
“Added to that, no players from the club have
tested positive for COVID-19.”
Swieqi United emphasised that the club had
followed all the guidelines issued by the Public Health authorities.
“Since the relative guidelines as issued by
the Public Health authorities were followed by all concerned, and following
consultation with the said authorities, community transmission of the said
virus was deemed to be of minimal risk,” the club added.
“Indeed, since the positive case was detected,
no further members of the club – both players and staff – have contracted the
virus.
“Furthermore, the club would like to stress
that all players that it currently has on trial, who have come from overseas,
were subjected to a swab test prior to joining up for training, and all said
players resulted negative.”
