Sliema bounced back from their crushing defeat to fierce rivals Neptunes when they brushed aside Birżebbuġa 16-4 at the National Pool.
Jerome Gabaretta was Sliema’s leading scorer with five goals while Zach Mizzi helped himself to four goals as the Blues all but wrapped up their victory by the end of the third quarter when they cantered to a 9-2 lead.
Still Sergio Afric’s team continued to pile up the goals in the final session, finding the net seven times to seal a comfortable victory.
In the opening match of the day, Exiles edged Sirens by the odd goal in 15.
The Sliema outfit nosed in front for much of the opening three sessions, with Sirens trying to salvage the result in the final quarter but Exiles held on for a marginal victory.
