Ħamrun Spartans are in talks to sign Swedish striker Nikola Vasic, the Times of Malta can reveal.
A report by Italian sports journalist Alfredo Pedulla revealed the possibility that the six-foot five forward could be heading to the Maltese Premier League after he received an offer from Ħamrun Spartans.
The Spartans are understood to be looking to bolster their forward line with a forward following the departure of Marcelo Barbosa who returned to Nadur Youngsters last month after a loan spell in the first part of the season.
Sources have told the Times of Malta that the Spartans have been scouring the market in search of a forward and it is understood that they have been given the opportunity to sign Vasic.
The 29-year-old started his career with Bagarmossen before joining Huddinge where he netted 22 goals in 24 appearances.
In 2017 he joined Akropolis in the Greek league and during a three-year stint he managed to find the net 44 times in 67 appearances.
This summer Vasic headed to the Italian Serie B where he joined Reggina with whom he made eight appearances.
