Żejtun Corinthians have completed a triple signing this week when they secured the services of defender Henrique Motta, midfielder Douglas Washington and forward Sergio Barboza.
As revealed by the Times of Malta last week, the Corinthians were looking to strengthen their squad after they parted ways with three overseas players, namely Fernandinho, Ricardo Faria and Rafael De Fex.
Barboza made his debut with the Corinthians on Thursday and immediately left his mark when he put his name on the scoresheet after scoring the team’s third goal in a 3-1 win over Tarxien Rainbows.
After coming through the youth ranks of Flamengo, Barboza went on to play for several clubs in South America as after signing for Brazilian sides Macae and Olaria he moved to Costa Rica with Limon FC and then headed to Guatemala where he played for Comunicacion B. He also had splels in in Honduras, Cambodia and Laos.
Last summer he was in India where he played for Minerva Academy.
On the other hand, Henrique Motta is a 29-year-old Brazilian defender.
Motta spent the majority of his career in Brazil before heading to in Vietnam where he played of H.A. gia Lai FC before returning home to play with Olimpia SP, Portuguesa and UR Trabalhadore.
Washington is a 32-year-old midfielder who also spent the majority of his career in Brazil where he was on the books of Londrina, Maringa FC, Coritiba and Athletico Paraenense.
He then moved to Oman before returning to Brazil where he played for Vitoria da Conquista.
