Valletta are on the verge of completing the loan signing of Wellington from Sirens in a deal until the end of the season.
It was the Times of Malta who on Friday night revealed that the Citizens were in an advanced staged to sign the Brazilian forward.
Valletta are looking to bounce back from a disappointing performance that saw them suffer a heavy defeat at the hands of Ħamrun Spartans (3-0) as they share ninth place with Gudja United and Żejtun Corinthians on 23 points.
Wellington, 28, has played 10 games with 3 goals and 1 assist in this campaign with Sirens but has fallen out of favour at the St Paul’s Bay side and is seeking a move away in January.
With the January transfer window set to slam shut on Monday, the Citizens will be hopeful of wrapping up a deal in the next 24 hours.
