The Executive board of Special Olympics have appointed Dr Lydia Abela as president of Special Olympics Malta.
Anna Calleja, the national director of Special Olympics Malta, said that it was an honour that Lydia Abela joined the big Special Olympics family.
“I am looking forward so that together we can provide everything possible to all athletes so that they can maximise their potential,” Calleja said.
“These are exciting times for Special Olympics Malta as next year Malta will be hosting the international games of Special Olympics.”
Abela held a meeting with the Special Olympics athletes and their parents, Abela said that she was honoured to be working with the excellent team at Special Olympics.
“I will be working hard so that we can invest in our athletes, with a great potential so that they can make Malta proud.”
