Żabbar St Patrick are closing in on their first major signing of the season as they are in advanced talks to sign midfielder Terence Agius.
The National Amateur League side are entering a new exciting chapter in their club history following the election of Kevin Deguara as the new club president and the appointment of Edward Calleja as the club’s sporting Director.
The southern club have already started to bolster their technical staff and have confirmed Todor Raykov as their technical director and chief scout.
The club has now started to build a competitive squad in their bid to win promotion to the Challenge League and they are closing in on a very ambitious signing in Agius.
In fact, sources close to the club told the Times of Malta that the 27-year-old Agius is close to agree personal terms with Żabbar St Patrick and is expected to put pen to paper on a four-year contract.
Agius brings a wealth of Premier League experience to the Żabbar club who are harbouring hopes of reaching top-flight football in two years’ time.
In fact, Agius, who came through the Pieta Hotspurs youth ranks, has played for Balzan, Pembroke, Ħamrun Spartans, Birkirkara and Mosta before moving to Sirens last season.
With the St Paul’s Bay side, Agius made 23 appearances and scored one goal as he helped the club avoid relegation.
