Timmy Vassallo has secured overall victory at the Ragusa Kinder Cup Regatta.
Competing in the Optimist division, the Malta Young Sailors Club sailor was in control of the competition right from the outset as he managed a consistent top-three placing in all nine regattas held in Italy.
In fact on the final day of the regatta Vassallo managed two first-placings and finished second in the other race to seal top spot with 12 points.
Vassallo finished ahead of Italian duo Yusei Castroni (Societa Cannottieri Marsala), who totalled 16 points, and Andrea Sabbia, Club Cannottieri Roggero, who amassed 21 points.
Jonas Micallef, who also hails from the Malta Young Sailors Club, finished the competition in eighth place on 43 points while Jack Gabriele and Harry Fairbarn, on their first overseas regatta, placed 44th and 47th respectively.
Meanwhile, the regatta also featured a team from the Royal Malta Yacht Club in their first experience abroad with Poyraz Fidnaboy finishing 46th, Katrina Micallef (51st) while Ava Calafiore ended her commitments in 55th place, two places ahead of team-mate Aras Memis.
The other RMYC sailors in competition were Matthew Camilleri (65th) and Luca Schembri Meli (69th) and Molly Ross (78th).
