Robert Micallef was reconfirmed as president Santa Lucia FC for another year.
The Premier League club held its annual general meeting last week during which the club members elected the new committee for the new season.
The committee members elected last week, met for the first time during a mini-seminar at the Corinthia Hotel in Attard during which Micallef was again confirmed as the club supremo for the 2021-22 season.
Kevin Attard will serve as vice-president while Ivan Vella will be the secretary and will be assisted by Paul Sammut.
The other members in the committee are John Urry (treasurer), Adrian G. Blanco (assistant treasurer), Henry Battistino (1st vice-president), David G. Blanco (Pro/Liaison Officer), Jonathan Mallia (technical co-ordinator), Mark Piccinino (team manager senior), Jean Luke Gilson (team manager youth), Terence Ellul (logistics co-ordinator) and Alfred Urry (groundsman).
Mark Mifsud was confirmed as club administrator.
During the meeting Micallef briefed all the members with next year’s plan of work, including responsibilities and strategy the club will be taking on board.
The Sta Lucia FC president also gave an update on the commercialisation project being undertaken by the club.
As revealed by the Times of Malta last month, Sta Lucia FC are in the process of announcing a very ambitious project that will transform the current training grounds into a centre of excellence that focuses on players’ development and education.
Sta Lucia’s main goal behind the project is to have young players who possess a football talent and help them develop their skills in a professional matter. Added to that they will also give the participants the opportunity to develop their talent also from an educational aspect.
