Laine Tutane, 38 and her daughter Cherilyn Christmas, 13, were heading the leader board after Day One of the Royal Malta Golf Club’s Ladies Golf Championship and Moya Hann Cup sponsored by MAC Cosmetics Malta.
On the second day, Tutane and Christmas played side by side in perfect conditions, the scores being even for most of the round.
Tutane eventually beat her daughter by two strokes coming in with a total score of 161 to win the Championship Trophy.
Tutane’s daughter, Christmas ended with a score of 163.
Cherilyn Christmas started playing when she was five-years old. She attends Verdala International School.
Third in the Club Championship was Maureen Borg who came in with a score of 180.
Rebecca Howes, Lady Captain said: “This is the most prestigious Ladies competition in the clubs’ calendar. Training for this championship has been curtailed by COVID-19 but the ladies still came in with good scores.’
The Moya Hann Trophy was played alongside the Ladies Championship and was won by Georgina Turkington with a total score of 200 with Lady Captain Howes finishing as runner-up with a total score of 201.
Third place went to Beverley Hall with a score of 205.
The Royal Malta Golf Club is currently taking in new members who can play golf or wish to learn the sport.
