Valletta striker Kyrian Nwoko is set to start a new challenge as he has agreed terms to join Northern Ireland side Linfield, the Times of Malta can confirm.
The Malta forward has been looking for a move away from our shores for several years and it looks as though he is closing in on moving to the Northern Ireland’s Premier League with Linfield.
In fact, sources have told the Times of Malta, that Linfield, winners of a record 55 league titles in Ireland, have agreed an undisclosed fee with Valletta FC for the Malta international and have also agreed personal terms with the player.
Nwoko is expected to put pen to paper on a two-year contract, however, his move is subject of being awarded a work permit.
For Nwoko, should this transfer go through this could be a huge opportunity to boost his career after a disappointing season with Valletta FC which saw him dogged by injury.
Nwoko came through the Luxol St Andrews Academy before being promoted to the first team.
In July 2017 he moved to Valletta FC and with the Citizens he won two Premier League title in 2018 and 2019 and also an FA Trophy.
A move to Linfield, winners of the Northern Ireland Premier League in the last three seasons, will also be welcomed by national coach Devis Mangia who is keen to see Nwoko continue to improve his talents as a forward.
So far, Nwoko has made 21 appearances with the national team, scoring three goals. He also boasts 11 caps with the Malta U-21 side, netting four goals.
