Birkirkara have confirmed the signing of veteran defender Leandro Aguirre on their social media channels, on Sunday.
The 34-year-old Argentine player will be playing for his second Maltese club in his career, after his two spells at Valletta.
With the Citizens, the left-back played 58 games with six goals and seven assists. He arrived in 2016/2017, where he played 30 games in the Premier League before the 19 played during the past season.
Birkirkara will resume their European commitments when they travel to Slovenia as they face Olimpija Ljubljana in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Aguirre will be forming part of the squad ahead of the Slovenia trip.
