Sirens FC are set to complete a triple signing this week as they have reached an agreement to sign defender Diego Albanese, winger Rei Tachikawa and forward Kemar Reid.
The St Paul’s Bay outfit, now under the charge of Winston Muscat, has been working hard in the close season to try and rejuvenate their squad ahead what promises to be a tough-looking Premier League campaign with the number of teams competing down to 12 teams.
Albanese is a much-needed defensive reinforcement for coach Winston Muscat as the 25 year-old Italian defender has been playing in Maltese football for almost four years now.
In fact, he arrived in 2017 when he joined Naxxar Lions before he headed to Żejtun Corinthians with whom he stayed for the last three years including, last season where he was part of Orosco Anonam squad who were playing their first season in the Premier League.
Rei Tachikawa also is head to the St Paul’s Bay outfit as the Japanese winger has also agreed personal terms with the Premier League club.
Tachikawa has left a good impression since his arrival in Maltese football in season 2019-20 when he joined Sta Lucia FC.
In the last two years, Tachikawa has impressed with his pace and power and no doubt his arrival will boost Sirens’ forward play.
The other player that is set to join Sirens is another former Żejtun Corinthians player in Kemar Reid.
The 26-year-old attacking midfielder arrived in Malta in 2016 when he joined Mosta but his best spell came when he moved to Luxol St Andrews where he made 51 appearances and scoring 12 goals.
Last season, Reid moved to Żejtun Corinthians where he made 19 appearances and scored eight goals.
