Sliema Wanderers are set to bolster their squad in the coming days as they are closing in on the signing of three players, the Times of Malta can confirm.
The Blues, who last week were boosted by the news that coach Andrea Pisanu had agreed to sign a two-year extension, are working hard to bring in reinforcements ahead of the start of the Premier League season next week.
The Wanderers are currently in talks to sign Brazilian defender Matheus Freitas Carvalho Da Silva.
The 26-year-old has started his career in his homeland with Goianesia and then headed to Kosovo in 2016 where he spent a short spell with KF Hajvalia.
Since then he returned to Brazil where he played for America FC.
In 2018 he moved to the Czech Republic where he donned the colours of Sokol Brozany before moving back home in 2019 at Hercilio Luz-SC.
Sliema are also looking to agree on a deal with Ivory Coast winger Inters Gui.
The 28-year-old spent the majority of his career in Portugal with SC Covilha, Vitoria Guimaraes, and Coimbra.
In 2017, he headed to Switzerland where he played for FC Chiasso.
A year later, he moved to Georgian first division club FC Samtredia before heading back to Portugal where he played for Torreense.
The Wanderers are also looking to agree on terms with Japanese Uki Uchida. Uchida is a 20-year-old midfielder.
