Maltese forward Ylenia Carabott will resume her career in English football as she is set to sign for Keynsham Town LFC.
Keynsham Town LFC is a third-tier team which plays in the Women’s National League – Premier Division, which includes notable teams like Southampton and Portsmouth.
Carabott has been recovering from an ACL injury that sidelined her for the past eight months, forcing her to miss the final part of the Belgian top-flight with RCSC Charleroi and several international appointments with the Malta women’s national team.
She will be the second Maltese international player to feature in English football this season, together with Sunderland Ladies’ Maria Farrugia who plays in the FA Women’s Championship – a tier above.
During her spell in Belgium, Carabott managed to leave a good impression having helped RCSC Charleroi secure their first ever victory in the women’s league after winning a penalty and scoring the decisive goal in a 2-1 victory over Zulte-Waregem.
It was Carabott’s first goal in 12 appearances for the Belgian team and her 37th in 46 appearances overseas.

Prior her injury, Carabott was also part of the women’s national team having been involved in the positive run during the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 qualifications.
