Sliema ASC’s Jayden Cutajar set for Partizan Belgrade experience

Benji Cachia, Liam Galea and Matthew Mifsud heading to Barcelona-based clubs

Sliema ASC are stepping up their efforts to nurture the talents of their young players with a strong coaching staff and letting some of their best youth to experience the life of a professional career in a foreign league in the coming months.

Four Sliema ASC young players are set for an experience abroad that will certainly help their waterpolo education.

Jayden Cutajar, one of the most talented players at the club and maybe even on the island, is set for short experience at one of the biggest clubs in waterpolo as he will join Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade for a one-week training spell.

In Belgrade, Cutajar will have the chance to train with the club’s juniors side as well as the ‘B’ team.

On the other hand, three other young players are heading to the city of Barcelona for the whole winter season.

Benji Cachia and Liam Galea are moving to CN Poble Nou while Matthew Mifsud has agreed to join the youth team of San Andreu.

Meanwhile, Sliema have looked to strengthen their coaching set-up at the club with Dejan Simeonov overseeing the U-13 and U-15 sides while Zoran Maslovar, who joined the Blues after a spell with Valletta last season, overseeing the junior teams and the senior side.
