Over last weekend, the Malta Air Rifle and Pistol Shooting Club organised its second competition of the National League 2021-22 in the 10m Air Pistol discipline, at the Larry Vella Hall indoor range in Bidnija.
The shooters were required to shoot six sets of 10 shots for a total of 60 shots each in 1hr 15minutes, with the best eight shooters to qualify for the final.
After the 60 shot qualification stage, Eleanor Bezzina was at the top of the list with a total of 560 from 600 points, followed by Stephen Vassallo with 531 points, and in third place was newcomer Stephen Kingswel, with 514 points.
During the final, Bezzina kept her momentum and took the lead, going on to win the competition. There was tight marking between the next 4 shooters, namely Josephine Galea Calleja, Stephen Vassallo, Sephora Fenech, and Raymond Cacciattolo. Stephen Vassallo managed to secure second place and Josephine Galea Calleja finished in third place.
The competition was judged by referee Angelo Galea and Range Officer John Galea.
The next competition is scheduled for Saturday, November 6 at 3.00pm.
