Malta women’s international Rachel Cuschieri has written another prestigious chapter in her remarkable professional career after scoring her first ever Serie A Femminile goal.
Cuschieri, who is in her second straight year on the books of Lazio, scored the Biancoceleste‘s second goal as led Napoli 2-1 at half-time, in the Serie A Femminile.
However, Lazio failed to capitalise on their lead as Napoli managed to grind a 4-3 win away from home.
Following this result, Lazio remain bottom of the table without any points whereas Napoli move to seven points.
Napoli had opened the score through Kaja Erzen before Adriana Martin levelled terms for Lazio. Moments later, Cuschieri pulled off a wonderful strike to turn the score around before half-time.
In the second 45 minutes, Napoli equalised through Eleonora Goldoni before Martin put Lazio ahead again. Yet, Napoli scored twice in the closing stages of the game to claim the spoils.
A stern test awaits Cuschieri’s Lazio next week as they travel to leaders Juventus who are yet to drop points after 32 consecutive Serie A victories.
