Malta women’s international Martina Borg contributed to Roma Calcio Femminile’s remarkable Sunday afternoon as they upset Serie B Femminile leaders Pink Bari 3-1.
Borg was deployed from the start as a midfielder for Roma CF and played the full game.
Roma CF and Pink Bari met a few weeks ago when the latter emerged winners in their first Coppa Italia outing of the season.
This time around, though, Roma CF were the better side on the field. They opened a two-goal lead before Pink Bari pulled one back in the second half. Nonetheless, a late Roma CF goal handed the Giallorosse all three points as they secured their first victory of the season.
Borg’s Roma CF will host Nicole Sciberras’ Tavagnacco in next Wednesday’s Serie B Femminile commitment.
