Maria Farrugia returned in action for Sunderland Ladies as she played against FA Women’s Championship leaders Liverpool, on Saturday night.
Liverpool emerged winners 3-1 after cancelling a one-goal deficit to cement their status at the top of the league with 23 points after 10 games.
Sunderland, on their part, are eighth in the 12-team league with 12 points in 10 games.
The Malta women’s international missed Sunderland Ladies’ last two games due to a minor knock but returned for this game and was given the nod upfront.
