Rachel Cuschieri and her Lazio women’s team were dumped out of the Coppa Italia after falling to a 1-0 defeat to Fiorentina Women.
Lazio and Fiorentina met in the final group game with the Biancocelesti needing a win to qualify whereas a draw would have been enough for the Viola.
In their competition openers, Lazio drew 1-1 with Brescia while Fiorentina defeated the latter.
Malta women international Cuschieri was in the starting formation for Lazio. They will return in action on January 16 when they travel to Sampdoria in the Serie A Femminile.
