Free-scoring Luxol and Valletta share top spot in National League

Luxol and Valletta are sharing top spot in the Enemed Futsal League after recording resounding victories in the last round of matches.

The St Andrews outfit scored an impressive 7-1 win over University of Malta, considered as a direct rival for the league title.

Celino Alves, Veve, Carl Azzopardi, Matthew Attard, Mark Zammit, Marwan Telisi and Dylan Musu were on the scoresheet for Luxol St Andrews.

The University of Malta pulled one back through Andrew Pace.

Valletta emulated their rivals as they scored nine goals against Mellieħa. The Citizens had a good share of possession and had Zvezdan Vukovic netting three goals.

On the other hand, Jovica Milijic, Cedric Sciberras, Karl Sciortino, Luke Gatt and Claudio Venuto were also on the mark for the Lilywhites.

Ta’ Xbiex moved up to fourth in the table after a handsome 12-0 win over Marsaskala.

George Frendo was superlative for his team as he netted a poker while Glenn Bonello and Stefi Cale hit the target twice. Dexter O’Brien, Jason Gauci and Joshua Tonna completed the score for their team.

Naxxar Lions obtained a very precious 5-2 win over St George’s. This victory helped the Lions to go level on points with their opponents in the table.

Antoine Barbara scored three time for Naxxar with Miguel Alcaraz netting a brace.

St George’s had their moments during the game although goals by Herbert Spiteri and Ismael Buhagiar weren’t enough for them to get any points.

Qormi registered their second win of the season after edging Siġġiewi 6-5.

The team led by Shawn Rogers were good on counter attacks and had Craig Pickard scoring a hat-trick while Vuk Rankovic helped himself to a brace.

Christian George Mallia added another goal for Qormi who are now on the six-point mark in the standings.

For Siġġiewi, Ryan Muscat scored a hat-trick while Justin Theuma and Darren Attard grabbed the other goals.
