Emma Lipman’s Como Women were handed a stern test in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia Femminile as they will face champions Roma, after the Italian Federation held the draws of the competition on Thursday.
Como, who are leading the Serie B Femminile, made it to the final eight of the competition at the expense of Haley Bugeja’s Sassuolo after their 1-1 draw in the direct encounter favoured Lipman’s side.
For Lipman, who is the captain of the Malta women’s national team, it will be a return to her former employers after donning the Roma colours during the 2018-2019 season.
The quarter-finals will be a two-legged tie with the first leg scheduled to be played on either January 29 or January 30 when Como will travel to Roma. Como will host the second leg on February 12 or February 13.
In the other quarter-final matchups, Juventus will face Inter, Fiorentina take on Tuscany neighbours Empoli while Milan will meet Sampdoria.
