The Ligue 1 match between Angers and Saint-Etienne on January 9 has been postponed because of a coronavirus outbreak at the home team, the French League (LFP) announced on Friday.
Angers, 11th in Ligue 1, have 19 players out with the virus and requested that the match against struggling Saint-Etienne be pushed back.
“The new date and time of the match will be communicated later,” the LFP said in a statement, confirming the decision to postpone the game.
Bordeaux have also been hit with a coronavirus outbreak with 21 players currently isolating and have requested that Sunday’s French Cup round of 32 match at Brest be postponed.
However the French Football Federation (FFF) makes no provision for the postponement of games in the case of a Covid outbreak.
