Hibernians’ goalkeeper Ibrahim Kone took part in Guinea’s first of two international friendlies against Rwanda as they are gearing up their preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations that will commence next week.
Kone, 32, started between the sticks and played the first 45 minutes. Rwanda went on to claim the spoils and win 3-0.
Both teams will cross swords once again this Thursday, with Liverpool star Naby Keita expected to join Kone’s Guinea after being in the Matchday squad for the Reds’ Premier League game against Chelsea last Sunday.
Guinea are drawn in Group B where they will face Malawi, Senegal and Zimbabwe in the Africa Cup of Nations.
They play their opening match on January 21 against Malawi.
