San Ġwann FC completed their first signing of the winter transfer window when they secured the services of highly-rated goalkeeper Miguel Spiteri.
The 18-year-old is seen as one of the most talented young goalkeepers in Maltese football and can be seen as a great capture for the Challenge League side.
Mifsud arrives at San Ġwann with valuable experience of plying his trade away from our shores. In fact, the young custodian has spent a few seasons in Spain as he was on the books of Cartagena, Leganes and Getafe.
“San Ġwann FC are excited to announce the signing of 18-year-old national goalkeeper Miguel Spiteri,” the Challenge League club said in a statement.
“With experience in various clubs in Europe, Spiteri is the first signing for San Ġwann FC in this transfer market.
“Whilst welcoming him to our club, we wish him all the best for the coming seasons.”
At San Ġwann, Miguel Spiteri will be battling for the number one jersey with Malta U-21 goalkeeper Cain Formosa.
Added to that he has the chance to stake his claim to take a regular spot in the team ahead of next season when Formosa is set to join Premier League side Valletta.
Earlier this month, San Ġwann were already involved in the transfer market when they sold young sensation Andrea Zammit to Valletta FC.
