Maltese youths Alexandra Gatt and Emma Ciantar Piccinino were on the winning side on Sunday after their clubs – London Seaward and Middlesbrough respectively – registered victories in their respective fixtures.
Gatt was in the starting formation for London Seaward as they faced Stevenage in the fourth tier, the FA Women’s National League. A full shift for the Malta U-19’s captain as London Seaward clinched a 1-0 victory.
On the other hand, Ciantar Piccinino played 45 minutes in the second half as Middlesbrough Reserves eased past Huntingon Rovers 10-0 in a cup game.
Both players were part of the Malta U-19’s women’s side that defeated Cyprus 2-0 and 4-0 during the recent FIFA international break, with Ciantar Piccinino being one of the Maltese scorers.
