Go&Fun BSJ Sprint Triathlon Series to kick off season
Birkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club will kick off its summer of sport on Sunday when the first, of the four-race, Go&Fun Sprint Triathlon Series will take place on the Salina Coast Road.
The Go&Fun Sprint Triathlon Series is spread over four triathlon races. Each race consists of a 750m swim, 20km cycle, and 5km run. #Triathletes taking part in the Sprint Triathlon Series, sanctioned by the Malta Triathlon Federation, will be eligible for points in the Triathlete of the Year Scheme.
In the meantime, the Club will also be hosting the Youth Triathlon Series. The series is much anticipated particularly since these haven’t been hosted in a while due to a lack of permits.
Birkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club also announced its partnership with the Malta Community Chest Fund, as the club’s official charitable institution throughout the current year.
This was revealed following a very cordial meeting that was held recently between officials of both entities to map out the way forward for collecting funds through the Club’s activities and its members.
“The Club has over the years supported several charitable institutions, through a contribution from each of its events. This year we are pleased to support the Malta Community Chest Fund for its endeavours in supporting individuals and entities to improve their quality of life and well-being in their time of need,” said Euchar Camilleri, Secretary-General, Birkirkara St Joseph Sports Club.
The Community Chest fund approved and welcomed this partnership, praising the club for its noble proposal toward the community.
“The Foundation welcomes Birkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club into its fold. It looks forward to the successful implementation of a mutual partnership which will surely contribute much-needed funds to the Foundation over the coming months” said John Attard, representing the MCCFF on this project.
Registration for the Go&Fun BSJ Sprint Triathlon Series can be done online on https://bsj.mt/event/2022-bsj-sprint-triathlon/ or until 30 minutes before the race on Sunday.
Athletes taking part are required to have a license from the Malta Triathlon Federation which can be acquired through their website www.triathlonmalta.org
