Floriana set to sign former Malta striker Kyrian Nwoko

Floriana FC have won the race to sign striker Kyrian Nwoko, the Times of Malta can reveal.

For Nwoko his move to Floriana FC marks a return to Maltese football after a couple of years. In fact the former Malta striker had decided to continue his career in Ireland with St Patrick’s Athletic.

However, when his loan spell with the Irish side came to an end he decided to put his football career on hold due to his personal position on COVID-19 restrictions.

Now, Nwoko has decided to return to Maltese football and in the past few days he had held talks with several Premier League clubs.

However, in the end Nwoko decided to continue his career with Floriana FC as he was impressed by the club’s technical project.

The Greens have been looking for Maltese forward during the summer transfer window and had looked set to sign Jean Paul Farrugia.

However, the latter had a change of heart and opted to join Birkirkara on loan from Sliema Wanderers.

But now the Greens have finally managed to secure the services of a Maltese proven goalscorer who will now join Gianluca Atzori’s squad for their upcoming commitments in the BOV Premier League.

Nwoko came through the youth ranks of Luxol St Andrews before he moved to Valletta FC.
