Toze Mendes’ side to meet Scotland, Croatia during in the tournament
The Malta U-19’s selection is currently in Slovenia where they will play three high-profile friendlies in the 2022 Nations Cup.
Coached by former Valletta Toze Mendes, the Maltese boys will launch their campaign against the United States whose squad is composed mainly by Major League Soccer-based players.
Malta will meet Scotland and Croatia afterwards, on Friday and Sunday respectively.
The tournament will serve as a preparation for the U-19’s team that will host next year’s UEFA U-19’s European Championships.
The qualifications for the 2023 edition went underway on Wednesday with some early surprises including Estonia’s 2-0 win over Italy and Luxembourg’s 4-4 draw with Turkey.
