Valletta FC young midfielder Keyon Ewurum has been invited for a trial by Serie A side Bologna, his representative company, M.Global S. – Sport Agency, announced in a statement.
The 16-year-old midfielder is seen as one of the most talented prospects in the Malta U-17 age-group and his skills were spotted by the Serie A side who are said to be very interested in securing the services of the player.
“Italian Serie A side Bologna FC have officially invited Keyon Ewurum for a trial in the upcoming days,” M. Global S. – Sport Agency said in a statement.
“We wish you the best of luck Keyon!”.
Officials from the Bologna FC Academy have invited Ewurum to travel to Italy and attend the trial between October 3 and 7.
Sources have told the Times of Malta, that Bologna FC are one of three Italian clubs who have shown interest in his players.
In fact, Serie A giants Juventus and Sassuolo have also sounded their interest in the player but have yet to make an official approach to Valletta FC.
Ewurum is the latest young Maltese player to attract interest from a foreign club in the past few weeks.
Lucas Caruana, formerly of Hibernians FC, has joined Italian side Sampdoria, while Luxol St Andrews player Sean Gatt and Jake Micallef, of San Ġwann, have moved to Portugal to join top club Boavista.
