Teddy Teuma captained a spirited Royal Union Saint-Gilloise side as they held Belgian champions Club Brugge to a 2-2 draw in Saturday night’s fixture.
The game looked to have slipped away from Teuma’s side after the reigning champions opened a two-goal lead inside 16 minutes.
Adding insult to injury was Simon Adingra’s early expulsion which left Union with a man down for the next 75 minutes.
Nonetheless, Teuma and his team mates staged a remarkable rally to cancel the two-goal deficit and snatch a valuable point.
For Teuma, this 2-2 draw was a special game not only for the result but also because he has now surpassed Mathias Fixelles with 131 appearances for the club.
While Henri Dirickx, who played with the club between 1951 and 1962, holds the all-time appearances record with 314 caps, Teuma leads this list among players who featured for Union in recent times.
