Centenary edition of Le Mans sold out

Next year’s 100th anniversary edition of the legendary Le Mans 24 Hour race will be sold out, the organisers announced on Wednesday, adding they are expecting an “historic new record” for spectators.

“After going on sale on October 21, tickets to attend the centenary edition are no longer available,” the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) said in a press release.

The attendance record, which dates from 2015, is 263,500 but organisers believe “this edition will break an historic new record”.

Tickets for the practice sessions and qualifying remain available in the days leading up to the race which begins on June 10.

A century after the first edition in 1923, the race will see the return of several big names in motorsport such as Ferrari, Porsche, Cadillac and Peugeot.
