Balzan have reached an agreement to sign Congolese defensive midfielder Delvin N’Dinga.
The Premier League club’s acquisition of N’Dinga can be seen as a major transfer coup for Balzan as the 34-year-old boasts an eye-catching CV, having played with several high-profile teams around Europe.
Balzan are looking to step up their charge for a place in European football next summer and Sunday’s disappointing goalless draw against Marsaxlokk has left the team in sixth place on 27 points. They are currently seven adrift of third-placed Birkirkara and three behind Hibernians, who are currently occupying fourth spot, and who incidentally are their next opponents next weekend.
N’Dinga underwent a medical with Balzan on Monday morning and has put pen to paper on a deal until the end of the season.
N’Dinga started his career with Congolese club Diables Noirs before he headed to France and join Ligue 1 side AJ Auxerre.
With Auxerre he played a few years with their youth team before finally being promoted to the first team in 2008.
N’Dinga spent four years with AJ Auxerre beore he joined Monaco in 2012.
The following year he was loaned to Greek club Olympiakos and helped them to a league and cup double in season 2013-14 and the following campaign Olympiakos again managed to successfully defend the Greek Cup.
In 2015, he moved to Lokomotik Moscow, again on loan from Monaco, and attacking midfielder again managed to win silverware as two year later he helped the team to lift the Russian Cup.
In 2017 he headed to Turkey where he played for Sivasspor, and Antalyaspor before returning to Greece in the summer of 2021 when he joined Panetolikos.
