Two Maltese players crossed paths on Sunday afternoon during the game between York City and Durham Cestria.
Jodie Attard, goalkeeper for York City, was handed a start between the sticks against Durham Cestria, who had Alexandra Gatt fielded from the start.
York City hosted the game in their final home outing in this season’s FA Women’s National League game – England’s fourth-tier.
Gatt’s side, Durham Cestria, ran out as 3-1 winners as they are currently at the top of the championship with 50 points albeit second-place Newcastle United have three games in hand.
Meanwhile, York City are 10th in the 12-team league with 17 points to show for their efforts.
This was the first meeting between these two players with Attard joining York City just in the most recent winter transfer window.
