Malta drop five places in men’s FIFA Rankings

Malta has dropped five places in the men’s FIFA Rankings following the latest positions released by football’s world governing body on Thursday.

Michele Marcolini’s side is now sitting in the 172nd position following their March defeats to North Macedonia (1-2) and Italy (0-2) in their opening commitments from the 2024 European qualifiers.

The national team is set to return in action in June when they will face Luxembourg in a friendly before hosting England in another highly-anticipated European qualification game.

Marcolini’s team will also face Ukraine away from home in the same month.

The next rankings will be published on July 20.
