The 12th edition of the Teamsport Goalkeeper Battle will be held on June 2 and 3 at the San Ġwann Football Ground.
Once again this event will be organized in collaboration with the San Ġwann Local Council and all profit will go to Zem Zem Foundation which is a voluntary organisation that provides monetary assistance to patients suffering from diseases for which the ideal treatment is unavailable on our national health system.
Also, a good number of foreign goalkeepers from Italy, Spain and the UK will take part in various categories, namely U-9, U-11, U-13, U-15, U-17, U-19, Seniors Men, Seniors Girls, and U-15 Girls.
A new concept this year will be a trophy for the club that will have most winning medals.
A maximum of 32 goalkeepers in each category can take part and will be grouped in eight groups of four goalkeepers.
First 2 goalkeepers from each group will advance to the knock-out stage.
Each match has a duration of two minutes and all games will be controlled by MFA referees.
Trophies will be given to all the winners, runners-up, and third place in each category.
All participants will get a full goalkeeper kit, goalkeeper gloves, and a commemorative medal.
Applications will be distributed to all nurseries in Malta and Gozo and also can be found at TEAMSPORT in Iklin, DI MILANO SPORTS shop in Paola and at San Ġwann Football Ground.
Open days for collection of applications will be held from Saturday April 13, and April 20 from 9am till 12pm at the San Ġwann Football Ground.
Closing date of applications will be on Friday, May 26.
The draws will be held on May 29 and 30 at Teamsport in Iklin
