Ramon Zammit is set to be appointed as the new coach of Luxol St Andrews, the Times of Malta can confirm.
At Luxol, Zammit is expected to replace Brian Said who stepped down from his post last week, after four years in charge.
The 54-year-old has been in talks with several clubs during the past few weeks with a view to returning to football management after an absence of a few months, following his departure from San Ġwann last December.
Luxol St Andrews approached Zammit on the possibility of taking over the reins of the club as head coach and talks between the two parties have reached an advanced stage and an announcement is due imminently.
The choice of Zammit as the new head coach comes as no surprise given his coaching philosophy.
Luxol St Andrews enjoy a huge tradition in nurturing talent and Zammit is one Maltese coach who for the past years has been very passionate about working with young players and helping them make the next grade.
In fact, looking at his CV, Zammit had spells at Pieta Hotspurs and San Ġwann, two clubs that are traditionally focused on young talent, while he had also been part of the Malta FA Technical Centre where his work was focused on young talent.
