An important addition for Raiders Lija women’s team after acquiring the services of young player Ylenia Grech.
Grech, born in 2005, is considered as one of the most promising talents in the local women’s game.
She will be joining coach Denis Guerra for the second time after being under his guidance during her spell at Raiders Għargħur. In 2019/2020, she moved on to another adventure after joining Swieqi United
Last season, Grech played an important part in the U-20’s selection of Swieqi United with 16 games in all competitions.
She scored four goals in her 15 league appearances while she has also played one game in the domestic cup.
Grech was Swieqi’s third best scorer in the U-20’s championship following Iulia Mifsud (8) and Jessica Dimech (6).
Her performances at youth level did not go unnoticed as Grech also managed to register three appearances at senior level, making her debut in a league game against Mtarfa back in March.
Asked by the Times of Malta about what motivated her to join Raiders Lija, Grech: “I felt the need for a new challenge and I have already been at Raiders before, so I am familiar with the club environment.”
“This club is very ambitious and I believe this is the right time for me to join Raiders,” Grech, who plays as a midfielder, said.
