Birkirkara have reached an agreement to sign Frosinone defender Francesco Verde on loan, the Times of Malta can reveal.
The talented centre-back is expected to arrive in Malta tomorrow and will then complete his move from the Serie B club.
Sources have told the Times of Malta that the Serie B club have agreed to pay the players’ wages, provided Verde plays a number of matches with Birkirkara this season.
Added to that, the Stripes have also secured an option to take the highly rated defender on a permanent basis at the end of the 2020-21 season.
The 20-year-old Verde came through Frosinone’s youth ranks and has represented the club at U-17 and U-19 level before he was promoted to the first team last season.
In fact, Verde was the captain of the Primavera side and made 50 appearances with the club in the 2B championships, netting two goals, against Juve Stabia and Perugia.
Added to that, he also skippered the side during a Coppa Italia match Round of 16 match against Inter which Frosinone won 2-1.
