The Malta Basketball Association was forced to postpone Sunday’s matches from the BOV Men’s League after there were a number of positive tests for COVID-19.
Mellieħa Libertas Spalding were due to face Depiro in the opening match while BUPA Luxol were scheduled to play Gżira Athleta.
The local governing body is holding its national competitions according to a strict medical protocol that requests every team in the senior competitions to undergo swab tests ahead of every fixture.
Sources have told the Times of Malta, that a number of cases came out of this week’s testing and the local governing body have decided to postpone all matches from the top division to ensure the safety of all players and officials.
