Senglea Athletic have been working intensely in the last few days to try and bring fresh energy to their squad as they look to step up their challenge to try and avoid relegation to the Challenge League next season.
The Cottonera outfit are currently sitting bottom of the Premier League standings and surely need a significant improvement on their results to try to move above their relegation rivals.
In fact, Senglea have decided to effect some changes to their first-team squad during the January transfer window. They have decided to part ways with five of their overseas players.
These are defenders Nicola Terzin and Uros Parezanin, midfielders Chris Matombo and Ricardo Martin and striker Kevaughn Atkinson.
Coach Clive Mizzi has managed to lure four players so far, namely goalkeeper Andrew Azzopardi, who started the season with Rabat Ajax, defensive duo Dion Fava, formerly of Żebbuġ Rangers, and Sergio Uyi, who returns to the Cottonera club for a second spell at the club after he donned their colours in 2017-18.
Upfront, they have also signed French forward Freud Gnindokponou, who last season was on the books of Qormi FC.
