Balzan FC have concluded a major transfer when they reached an agreement to re-sign Brazilian winger Alex de Paixao, the Times of Malta can confirm.
The Brazilian winger enjoyed a very impressive spell with Balzan FC before moving to the Middle East but now he has the chance to rekindle those memories after agreeing on a two-year deal with the Reds.
After spending the majority of his career in Brazil, where he played for AD Bahia, Colo-Colo and Parnahyba, Lecao arrived in Malta in 2015 when he joined Tarxien Rainbows.
At the Rainbows he quickly left his mark during his two-year spell with the club, becoming a fans favourite with his lightning pace and excellent finish.
In fact, with Tarxien he made 65 appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists.
In 2017 he moved to Balzan where he again left a very good impact on the team.
In fact, with the Reds, he made 46 appearances and scored 16 goals and his form attracted the interest of Saudi Arabian club Al Akhdoud Club.
He spent one year and six months in Saudi Arabia before returning to the Maltese Premier League to join Birkirkara FC last season.
At Birkirkara, Lecao made 16 appearances, scoring six goals to help the Stripes finish fourth in the standings and book their place in UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers.
