Members of the South End Core, the official supporters club of the national team, were in party mood in Larnaca on Monday ahead of Malta’s World Cup qualifier against Cyprus.
Over 100 Maltese fans made the trip to Cyprus to support the national team in what is being dubbed as one of the most important matches for Devis Mangia’s selection.
This is because if the national team manages to avoid defeat against the Cypriots they will take a giant stride towards avoiding finishing at the bottom of Group H, a feat that has last been achieved in the 1994 World Cup qualifiers.
The South End Core contingent arrived in Cyprus on Sunday night and on Tuesday they have been partying around the city of Larnaca, singing their popular songs before heading to the stadium to support the national team.
