Luxol St Andrews and University of Malta maintained their 100 per cent record in the Enemed Futsal League as they registered important wins against their respective opponents.
Valletta Futsal remained in touch with the front-runners after a great victory they breezed past Żurrieq while St Georges celebrated their first points of the season after a dramatic win against Marsaskala Futsal.
Luxol notched their fifth win of the season after seeing off Mellieħa 6-1. The latter were a tough nut to crack for the champions.
The St Andrews outfit had their captain Mark Zammit scoring a brace while Carl Azzopardi, Nathan Cope, Everton Veve and Marwan Telisi were also on target.
Mellieħa reduced the score through Andrew Abela.
University of Malta maintained their perfect patch as they registered a 12-2 scoreline against Qormi.
Noel Azzopardi was University’s talisman as he scored five goals while Mohammed Elamari and Cleavon Portelli hit the target twice.
On the other hand, Andrew Pace, Dylan Mintoff and Stefan Camilleri completed the score for their team.
Valletta confirmed their good form of late after a mammoth 15-0 win over Żurrieq.
The Citizens made their intentions clear as they had Steven Camilleri scoring a poker and Aaron Montebello helping himself with a brace.
On the other hand, Zvezdan Vukovic, Karl Sciortino, Luke Gatt, Jovica Milijic, Michael Borg, Dylan Pace and three own goals completed the scoreline for the Lilywhites.
Siġġiewi obtained their second win of the season after netting four goals against Naxxar.
Brazilian striker Wallace Olivera scored a brace while Ryan Muscat and Justin Theuma made sure of the win for Siġġiewi.
St Georges broke their duck as they won their first match of the season after a 7-4 victory against Marsaskala.
It was a well-contested encounter between two sides which stand in the lower part of the table.
The Cottonera side had Herbert Spiteri who scored a hat-trick while Eslam Khalifa put his name on the scoresheet twice.
Leon Camilleri and Matthew Scicluna were also on the mark.
Marsaskala scored their goals through Gianluca Lo Giudice and Gildred Gatt’s double.
