Watch: Chris Peregin opens up on his journey with Ben Camille

Ben Camille met with Nationalist Party strategist Chris Peregin during this week’s edition of GAMEON.

Peregin spoke about his decision to leave his managing post at LovinMalta to enter politics and join the Nationalist Party.

During the interview, Peregin gave a few details on his journey and said that he always felt that he was an activist but said that he never wanted to do student politics from the perspective of SDM and Pulse.

He said that he tried for two years to get the groups, including Pulse and SDM to join as one independent team and then he joined the journalistic group at University which eventually led him to be hired by the Times of Malta.

During the interview, Peregin and Camille tried to predict the outcomes on the three hottest football matches that will be played this weekend.

Inter look to stretch winning form at Roma

In the Italian Serie A, Roma play hosts to Inter and Camille tipped Inter to come out victorious while Peregin said that it will be Roma who will prevail.

For Inter, this is a match they need to win if they are to keep up the pressure on leaders Napoli.

The Nerazzurri come into the match on the back of a comfortable victory over Spezia, their third win in a row and will be hopeful they can bridge the two-point gap they currently have on leaders Napoli as they look to retain the title for a second successive season.

Roma, on the other hand, suffered their sixth league of the season at Bologna in midweek, and will be desperate for the three points as they look to bridge the gap on fourth-placed Atalanta, who currently hold the last spot for next season’s Champions League.

Roma coach Jose Mourinho will be without key personnel for this match as influential midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini and striker Stephan El Shaarawy are out injured.

Long-time rivals Birkirkara and Valletta go head-to-head

The Maltese Premier League this weekend provides a fascinating duel between two big rivals in Maltese football when Birkirkara take on Valletta.

The match holds huge importance for both teams who are bidding for all three points as they look to close the gap on runaway leaders Hibernians.

At present Valletta are second in the standings on 19 points, one ahead of Birkirkara.

The Citizens look in good fettle after three wins in a row propelled them to second place in the standings.

Birkirkara, on the other hand, have struggled for consistency lately, with just one win from their last three matches, have seen them drift away from keeping up the pressure on Hibernians.

Camille tipped Valletta to beat Birkirkara while Peregin said that it will be Birkirkara who will take all three points.

Leaders Hibs face Floriana test

Hibernians will be looking to strengthen their top spot in the Premier League standings when they take on Floriana.

The Paolites are currently in a rich vein of form as victories over Ħamrun Spartans and Balzan in their last two outings have seen them open a five-point lead at the top of the standings.

No doubt, coach Stefano Sanderra will be hoping his players can carry their positive momentum as they look to wrap up their first-round commitments on a winning note.

On the other hand, Floriana will be determined to clinch full spoils in this match as they look to stay close to the top placings in the standings.

The Greens come into the match on the back of a disappointing defeat to Sirens and will hope that was just a minor blip as they look to keep up their fight towards a possible challenge for qualification to European football next summer.

Camille said that he feels that Hibernians are favourites to win the match while Peregin tipped Floriana for victory.
