Ħamrun Spartans are not expected to retain the services of defender Claude Dielna, midfielder Matteo Fedele and striker Franklin Sasere, the Times of Malta can confirm.
The Spartans are looking to rejuvenate their squad after topsy-turvy Premier League campaign which saw them forfeit the title of Malta champions to Hibernians with the team only managing to secure European football on the final day of the season.
The Reds, under the charge of coach Branko Nisevic, have already started working on their first-team squad ahead of their return to European football where they will be featuring in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.
The Spartans’ top hierarchy have decided to bring in fresh blood to the club this summer and it is understood that French defender Claude Dielna, Swiss midfielder Matteo Fedele and Nigerian striker Franklin Sasere do not form part of the Spartans’ plans for the upcoming campaign.
Dielna and Sasere were on the books of Ħamrun Spartans for the last two seasons, but their performances in the 2021-22 season were not as expected.
Fedele on the other hand was brought in January to fill the void left by the departure of Matthew Guillaumier.
It is understood that the Spartans are looking to bring in young blood at the club as they are keen to mount a serious challenge for the Premier League title.
