
After facing each other in both of this year’s finals, Kavallieri and Swieqi Phoenix each took a share of this year’s Knock-Out competition. Kavallieri won the women’s final 34-28, as Swieqi Phoenix won the men’s game 39-25.
In the women’s game, Kavallieri RS2 won the last trophy of the season after defeating newly crowned champions Swieqi Media Troopers Phoenix. It was quite a balanced affair in the first part of the match where both teams displayed some good handball.
Kavallieri RS2 led by three goals at the end of the first half and were able to increase the difference to six goals at the end of the match. Daniela Mifsud (Swieqi Media Troopers Phoenix), Irene Drugovic (Kavallieri RS2) and Daryl Azzopardi (Kavallieri RS2) were the top scorers of the match with 10 goals each.

In the men’s game, Kavallieri RS2 shared the spoils until the 19th minute of the match, when champions Swieqi Bajada New Energy Phoenix stepped up a gear and went into half-time with an eight-goal margin (12-20).
Swieqi Bajada New Energy Phoenix maintained the momentum in the second half and increased the difference to 14 goals by the end of the match. Andy Mercieca (Kavallieri RS2) and Janko Radivojevic (Swieqi Bajada New Energy Phoenix) were the top scorers of their teams with seven and nine goals respectively.
