Swieqi United unveil coaching staff for youth teams

Swieqi United have continued to unveil their setup for the 2022/2023 season after announcing the coaching staff for their men and women’ teams at youth level.

The Owls have named Paul Bugeja as their new U-19’s coach. The UEFA A license holder will join the club following his experience at Żetjun Corinthians, where he served as an assistant coach, physical trainer and match analyst.

He has worked with a number of youth setups across the island including Balzan, Melita, Qormi and Tarxien Rainbows.

“Coach Paul Bugeja joins our senior technical staff and will be focused on steering our U-19’s squad in its maiden season in Section A,” club president Dr Justin Fenech said in an official statement.

Dr Fenech was also pleased to announce that Mandy Debono (UEFA B) and Giulia Borg (CYF) will occupy the roles of the U-17’s women’s coach and assistant coach.

“In coaches Mandy Debono and Giulia Borg, we not only see immense potential, but we recognise that their one-to-one attention with all players is key when it comes to nurturing and developing the next generation of “Swieqi talent”.

Last season, the U-16’s girls team clinched the domestic cup after beating San Ġwann in the final.
